Before the bands from the Big Four took the stage at Yankee Stadium earlier this week they sat down to talk about the rivalries, if any, that went on during the 1980's.

Rolling Stone sat down with members of Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax to talk about the supposed rivalry between all of them back in the day.  They are all on good terms now and embrace their place in heavy metal history.  As a matter of fact the guys say they were friendly rivals at that.

Having seen Metallica's Some Kind Of Monster documentary, I don't think that Metallica and Megadeth were as friendly.  In Megadeth's Behind the Music special Dave Mustaine even said that his mission was to be bigger than them.  They are friendly now, and thank goodness for that because other wise we wouldn't be having these incredible Big Four shows.
