Who knew that your dreams could all come true in Saratoga and all in one day! If you missed the Saratoga Beer Summit, which was the capstone event of Saratoga Beer Week, then you really missed out on some great beer and cider too!
Albany area beer connoisseurs were out in full force at the Rare Beer + Cask Ale Event as part of Saratoga Beer Week on Thursday 2/22. A dozen breweries were represented with some of best of the best and of course rare beers. We had some favorites for the night for sure and clearly so did all of the other beer geeks in attendance.
We never find the death of anyone funny, but this story is one of those weird moments in life that you just can't help to note.
We attended the official kickoff party for Saratoga Beer Week at the Olde Saratoga Brewing Co and had a blast sampling beer and having some pizza from a wood fired oven. If you missed the event dont' worry, there are plenty more happening this week where you can get in on the beer action.
We're pretty excited about all of the different events that are all part of Saratoga Beer Week and we don't want to miss a thing - but there was something missing - a map! We had one dream come true when we found a week full of beer and then the beer gods said 'let there be an interactive map' and ta-da there it was.
In observance of President's Day we take a look back at how much those who have held the office of President appreciated beer. As a matter of fact, beer was considered safer than water when the Pilgrims arrived, and they landed where they did because they were running out of beer.
Hilarity erupted when someone hacked the Burger King twitter account and rebranded it as McDonald's. While some of the updates were a bit offensive, most of them are funny. Perhaps whopper123 was a poor password choice.
UPDATE: Great news - we just learned from Troy Police that she has returned home - THANK GOD!
NASA has set up a live web stream using several telescopes from all over the world to observe asteroid 2012 DA14 - which is not going to hit Earth. This is the closest to Earth that an object of this size will pass since we've been observing space in modern times. The asteroid will not be visible over North America but you can watch it right here.
Remember that dream you had where the world was nothing but beer, for an entire week? It wasn't a dream -- it's real. And it's happening all next week in Saratoga. Dreams do come true.
The Saratoga beer festival -- 30 miles from Albany, in beautiful, idyllic Saratoga Springs -- features beer from all over New York State, rare beers, and the best microbrew beers from all of the world
Few guys dislike beer and giving it as a Valentine's Day gift to your guy will guarantee a homerun. He'll want to use that gift of beer relatively quickly, so it is a good thing that we have a great solution for your Valentine's Beer gift endeavors.
