The annual Freihofer's Jazz Fest at Saratoga Performing Arts Center is adding a third day this year.

According to The Times Union, the annual Freihofer's Jazz Festival will now kick off on June 22, and run through the 24th. On June 22, the day will be feature jazz-related events and a New Orleans themed fundraising gala which will take place at the Canfield Casino. The reason for the additional day is for SPAC and the jazz festival to increase collaborations with local businesses. Many restaurants and bars will be participating in this year's festivities. The Freihofer's Jazz Festival is now in it's 41st and will feature a lineup of great jazz artists along with R&B legend Mavis Staples, John Batiste, Chris Botti, Herbie Hancock, Gregory Porter, Joey Alexander and many more. Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce president Todd Shimkus said, "The first-ever  Jazz Fest Friday is a unique opportunity for us to expand this world-renowned festival from two to three days and to showcase our community as a top destination for jazz music in the world." Elizabeth Sobol, CEO of SPAC called the new promotion a "strategic initiative to proactively connect the arts with local businesses." She called the extra day of a events, "a win for our community and an added value for our out-of-town guests."
