Do you remember this one? I had just noticed that Dave Grohl mentioned that Motorhead would be opening for the Foo Fighters and instantly I thought “Oh my God, they’ve got to play this song together!”

My guess is that the Foos will probably bring Lemmy up on stage with them every night that they tour together. Sadly, it looks like they’ll only be together for 5 dates. And what makes it even more unfortunate is that none of those 5 dates are anywhere near us.

It’s not often that I think “Hey, I really wish I was in Oklahoma or Arkansas right now!” But I’d like to be in that area for on any of those 5 days. Maybe you’re not a Motorhead fan and could care less. But Lemmy is so ‘Rock n Roll’ that it’s hard not to have some appreciation for him. I stood next to him for about an hour at the Rainbow in L.A. once. I just gave him the generic “Hey Lemmy…. You rock dude” and I think that was good enough for both of us. I didn’t really want to bother him much because he had your typical, past her prime 80’s chic who was hanging all over him the whole time I was there. It was rather funny because this woman had a stack of Motorhead cd’s (that she got autographed) and was just talking and talking, and Lemmy wasn’t paying any attention to her whatsoever. He pretty much just starred up at the TV that was airing Wheel of Fortune trying to block her out. I mean, when you choose to watch Pat Sajak over a very scantily dressed slut, you’re really not interested. My bet is that if she was still gabbing when he left, he probably brought her home, had his way with her and then kicked her out.

Anyway, hearing about the Foo Fighters and Motorhead made me think of this awesome song from a project Dave Grohl called Probot. This of course is the single ‘Shake Your Blood” (with Lemmy) that we used to play. If you ask me, it should still be in rotation. In the big picture, if we’re going to play one hit wonders like The Toadies and Silverchair, why not play one that includes 2 really big rock names like Dave Grohl and Lemmy Kilmister? But I don't call the shots. Fortunately though, I have this new online outlet where I can share new things and also remind and re-introduce great moments from the past.
