5 Best Places to Watch the Kentucky Derby around Albany
Today marks the 138th running of the Kentucky Derby and first leg of the triple crown. Post time is at 6:24 and will be broadcast on NBC. The Capital Region is closely tied to horse racing as the city of Saratoga Springs hosts the summer meet beginning in July. If you can't be in Kentucky, I've selected some of the best places around to grab a beer, some food and watch the best two minutes in sports.
The closest horse racing going on now in the Capital Region is at the Saratoga Casino and Raceway. Its the only place to watch and wager without leavingthe party. Located at 111 Wolf Road in Colonie, Wolfs is a cool place to watch the derby. Afterwards you can play in the game room. 20 draft beers on tap, I'm sure you can find one to slam while rooting for your longshot! Whether your in the dining room or the bar, there's a tv near to watch.
