2-1-12 National Rush Day

It's a little known fact that today is national Rush day.  It is inspired because it's 2-1-12, which is in tribute to there 1976 album, 2112.

One of the most influential bands of all time is being celebrated today.  February 1, 2012 has been dubbed National Rush Day because the numerical writing of the date is 2-1-12, the same as Rush's big album 2112.   This all of course according to Bravewords.com.

The reason for the tribute is because most say that 2112 is the first album that can actually be called 'Progressive Metal'.   It is all in preparation to get us ready for the year of Rush in 2112, which is just a hundred years from now.  Unfortunately most of us probably won't be here to see that, so by all means, blast 2112 all day today in honor of the geekiest of all metal bands.
