12 Killed, And Many More Injured In Colorado Shooting At ‘Dark Knight Rises’ Premiere

Tragic news out of Aurora, Colorado. Early on Friday morning shots rang out at a screening of ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ that resulted in casualties and many injuries.


When people showed up for a midnight showing of the latest Batman movie, they never thought the action would get real. That’s exactly what happened just after midnight in Aurora, Colorado. They are getting confirmation as of 5:28 A.M. est that 14 people were killed due to a mass shooting that took place.

10 people were killed right at the movie theater, and four later died at hospital. 50 others were injured in the attack. According to KUSA-Denver, the suspect released a container of gas, then opened fire. He was caught by the police, and is in custody.

Update

As of 8:20 A.M. the death count as been changed to 12, while 50 remain injured.  The gunman has been identified as a 24 year-old man named James Holmes.

A woman from San Diego has been identified as Holmes’ Mother. When asked by the police if she knew anything, she said:

You have the right person, I need to fly out to Colorado.
