After two close losses in Seattle, the Yankees have taken advantage of some great outings from their pitchers to win a few on their West Coast road trip.

The Yankees started out on one of their first West Coast road trips of the season this past weekend and it got off to a rocky start in Seattle.  They dropped 2 games to the Mariners, 4-3 on Friday and 5-4 on Saturday.  Two very close games, that can really take a toll on your psyche, but not the Yankees.

The bounced back for a big 7-1 win against Seattle on Sunday.  CC Sabathia went 8 big innings for the bombers and allowed just 5 hits before Lance Pendleton took over in the 9th.  Yankees bats were working well too.  Nick Swisher hit a solo shot off of Jason Vargas early on.  Swisher was 2-2 with 2 RBI's on Sunday.  Curtis Granderson was also productive as he went 3-5.  So the bombers left Seattle on a good note and avoided the sweep.

Monday was another great day for Yankee pitching.  Bartolo Colon went all 9 innings for the bombers and only allowed 4 hits the entire time against the Oakland A's. You can also credit that to some great defense by the Yankees as well.  Mark Teixeira got to Oakland pitcher Trevor Cahill early with a 2 run homer.  Robinson Cano also had a good day at the plate going 2-4 with an RBI.  Yanks would shout out Oakland 5-0.

Yankee road trip continues tonight from Oakland, Freddy Garcia taking on Brett Anderson.  The Yanks stay out west for the rest of the week till they come back home next Tuesday to take on the Red Sox.  Catch all the Yankee action on our sister station ESPN radio 104.5 the team.
