Time magazine did their research and came up with the top people in every genre of interest and entertainment that you should follow on Twitter.

Twitter is quickly sweeping across our nation and the world as a means of quick communication and a way to voice your opinion to everyone with a couple clicks.  Time magazine put together a list of the 140 best twitter feeds.  No big surprise that people like Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Sarah Palin and Shaq are on the list, but there are also some unexpected, or at least unexpected to me, additions to the list as well.  They have taken the best twitter feeds from comedians, musicians, politicians, businesses, athletes and more and compiled them so that when you log in, you are never bored.

Celebrities are the most followed people whether you are on twitter or not, but who is really worth following?  Time says that actor Neil Patrick Harris should be at the top of your list.  He has over a million followers already and his posts are always humorous and witty and he is not afraid to tackle personal issues.  It is really cool that he lets his fans get a little sneak peak of NPH in real life.  Ashton Kutcher and Kanye West have long been known for their twitter posts so of course they find themselves on this list.

Comedians are also followed on twitter, mainly because of their humorous updates.  According to the Time list the top comedian to follow is Chelsea Handler. Over 3 million followers can't be wrong about this.

She almost shares to much information, which is a twitter followers wet dream.  She is constantly extending the cracks from her show Chelsea Lately to her account and hits up everyone from celebs to her co-workers to herself.  You can also get plenty of behind the scenes stuff from following her because she is a compulsive "twit pic" poster.   Time also recommends following Stephen Colbert, Conan O'Brien and Jimmy Fallon.

I don't have a Twitter page, but I do use the Q103 one and two of my favorite comedians to follow are Aziz Ansari, who made the Time list, and Daniel Tosh.  If you're a fan of Tosh.0 on Comedy Central you'll love following Tosh because it allows you chat with him as the show airs and also he puts up posts for you to finish and does twitter contests.  All very cool and entertaining.

Now the rest of the list is made up all kinds of business ventures and politicians so i won't get to heavily into that.  If you are looking to save some money they suggest following Coupons.com on twitter.  While not everyone can stand her, Sarah Palin is one of the most followed political figures on the web.  Instant Netflix and Southwest airlines are the popular businesses on twitter.  For a look at the complete list of 140, click here.

So if you don't already have a twitter account, this is your excuse to go make one.  We have given you the tools to succeed, no go out there and make us proud. Oh - and follow us on Twitter as a place to start.
