Both of these schools easily are in the argument of best for students in the Capital Region as well. These rank among the best in the state for teaching.

No shocker to me, my alma mater did not make the list of top 30 schools to teach at in Upstate New York. I attended Lansingburgh and actually didn't mind it. I hear many say that school district isn't all that good, but I didn't seem to find it in the least. However, some of the districts in the area that are known for being very good also didn't make the list. Guilderland, Shenendehowa, Ballston Spa and Colonie.

The two that did are judged on a few things, but mainly the student to teacher ratio and the average salary of a person who teaches there. Both of the schools named are very similar.

  • Niskayuna: 14:1 Teachers per student and just over $78,000 earned a year.
  • Bethlehem: 15:1 Teachers per student and just over $80,000 earned a year.
