Happy Birthday today (Feb. 13) to Bob Daisley. The former bassist for Ozzy Osbourne is 68. Other rockers celebrating today include rock n roll hall of famer Peter Gabriel (68), Henry Rollins (57), and ex Cult drummer Les Warner (57).

Bob Daisley is best known for his work with Ozzy, as bassist for his band throughout the 80’s and 90’s. Prior to working with Ozzy, Daisley was a member of Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow and performed on the classic 1977 album Long Live Rock and Roll. In 1979, he left Rainbow and met Ozzy Osbourne. The two formed  a band with guitarist Randy Rhoads and drummer Lee Kerslake which would become Ozzy’s solo band. Daisley played on the albums Blizzard of OzzDiary of a MadmanBark at the MoonNo Rest for the Wicked, and No More Tears. Bob Daisley and Ozzy Osbourne’s working relationship would eventually crumble in the 90’s due to legal issues. I've seen Ozzy play live many times throughout the years but unfortunately I never had the chance to see Bob Daisley perform with him. I'm a big fan of his work not only with Ozzy, but also with the band Rainbow. Cheers to this rockin bassist!
