A three-legged dog was successfully rescued from an area cliff on Wednesday.

According to The Times Union, Albany County Sheriff's search and rescue team were able to rescue a three-legged dog from a cliff at Thatcher Park in Voorheesville on Wednesday. The state police had been called regarding a dog that was staring over a cliff in Thatcher Park and officers feared that the dog would jump. Sheriff Craig Apple said that the dog named Tripod got separated from his owner while the two were hiking. After police rescued Tripod, they contacted the owner who had been searching for the dog and the owner was subsequently arrested for drunken driving. So this story has a both happy and sad ending I guess.

As a dog lover, great to hear that Tripod is safe, it's a shame though that the owner was later found to be drinking and driving. Ya gotta take the good with the bad I guess.
