Music was here to pull us through some heavy stuff this weekend and this week brings some amazing live shows to keep our spirits high.

Unfortunately some of the chaos we seem to see in the national media these days appeared to happen here in the Capital Region over the weekend. A shooting situation (which could have potentially been way worse then it was) occurred at the Crossgates Mall Saturday afternoon.

It just so happened that one of the bands that was scheduled to play show for us Saturday night was also scheduled to appear for an autograph signing in the mall at about that same point in time. Luckily the band was running a bit late and didn't make the signing and after all was said and done both fans of the band and the band itself are safe today.

The whole situation got me thinking about how thankful I am that we live in an area that is able to provide us so many avenues for music that it does. They say music heals and after this weekend I couldn't agree more!

Personally I am very thankful that Highly Suspect didn't get to make their signing Saturday and was able to pick us back up after a particularly heavy day in the Capital Region. I don't know about you bout I spent the weekend listening to live music and I couldn't be more thankful that I could use it as a coping mechanism.

I'm also very thankful that the music isn't going to stop because over the next couple of days we have a couple of shows lined up to keep us going and we would love for you to be a part of it. Tueseday Asking Alexandria will be at the Upstate Concert Hall on the 10 years in the Black Tour and on Friday In Flames and Hellyeah will be at that very same spot.
