It may not have been a birthday that rocks, but on 02/21/1986 "The Legend Of Zelda" was released and people began calling in to work, and ditching school to play a video game.

I have a confession to make: I have never completed a "Legend of Zelda" game.

I am ashamed but I am not embarrassed, because I tried.

It does not matter if you have ever completed a "Legend of Zelda" game or not, because this series has been relevant to our culture for 30 years. Since 1986 there has been 18 Zelda games and that does not include spinoffs and cameos and it is still going strong today.

"The Legend of Zelda" has a positive and a negative effect on our culture, because you can say that this game is responsible for generations of kids who would rather stare at a screen all day, but it is also a game that brought generations together, and look at all the cool "Legend of Zelda" musical tributes:

Don't let the 30th anniversary of the game make you feel old, let it make you feel young again instead, you can share stories of your early Zelda adventures, or you can go find your cousin, brother or friend and accidentally delete their game.
