For those of you who are unfamiliar with The Damned Things they are a rock and metal super group featuring Scott Ian and Rob Caggiano of Anthrax, Joe Trohman and Andy Hurley from Fall Out Boy, and Keith Buckley and Josh Newton of Every Time I Die.  They released their first album back in December of 2010, Ironiclast, and it's had some success amongst heavy metal fans. They have been one of the supporting acts on the Jagermeister Music Tour ,which hits our area on Friday.  Crowds have been loving them on the Jager tour so that has prompted Danish rockabilly/metal band Volbeat to had them to their North American tour coming up in March.

Don't know who Volbeat is either?  You are missing out.  They have been around since 2001 and bringing a very unique sound to heavy metal.  Drawing from inspirations like Johnny Cash, Social Distortion and Metallica, they have combined the sounds of all these great musicians into one pretty awesome metal stew.  I heard these guys back in 2007 for the first time when they released the song "Sad Mans Tongue".  Check it out and love it.

The new single from The Damned things is out as well and fans of Anthrax, Fall Out Boy and Every Time I Die have loved it so far.  Joe Trohman, current guitar player in the band, said that it is a refreshing new sound and he is pumped at how the fans are embracing it.  I hope you all come out to Northern Lights Friday night to check out The Damned Things as part of the Jagermeister Music Tour.
