The Best Rivalry Of All Time?

Many would say the Red Sox and Yankees. Depending on what part of the country you’re in some may opt for a football match up like the Bears and Packers, or the Cowboys and Redskins but when it comes down to it

I’d have to go with Duke and North Carolina. First off, you’d have to go with a college match up because the kids aren’t playing for money. With no paycheck on the line, it’s strictly for pride and they play the game with much more heart than most professional players. I can’t speak about Roy Williams, but I think it’s safe to say that coach K has true student/athletes playing for him.

If you never watched a game between these two, watch them tonight at 9pm on ESPN. Duke plays in such a small gym and the fans are so close to court that it gets incredibly loud and it simply an amazing atmosphere to watch. I hope that someday I get a chance to see it in person. For tonight though, I’ll be watching on my Vizio.

At this point you’re probably saying “Alright, I know Mrozek can’t talk this much about a game and not throw out a pick for it.” And yes, you’d be right! In the beginning of the season, UNC didn’t look like they had much and that this game would not be a big one, but they’ve really put things together winning 5 in a row and 9 of the last 10, and considering the beat down Duke laid on the Tar Heels last year (82-50) in Cameron Indoor Stadium, I’m looking for some of that pride I was talking about to show up for North Carolina tonight. I’m all over UNC +10 tonight and wouldn’t be shocked if they leave the Cameron Crazies with a frown on their face by pulling off the upset. No matter what happens, enjoy the game and remember… There’s nothing finer, than Duke and Carolina!
