    The Orchard Tavern - Albany

If you want some truly unique pizza than you need to hit up the Orchard Tavern in Albany, NY. Located right near Everett Rd off of 1-90, it is the oldest tavern in Albany. It opened up in 1903. Not sure when they started to make their fantastic personal pizzas, but they are some of the best. Crispy and hot, these are one of a kind. Plus they have a variety of topping to choose from and a ton of specialty pizzas including shrimp scampi and chicken fajita. You'll def want to check out this spot.

    The Lager House - Latham

Every week we do Smarter Than a Q-Tease at the Lager House, and every week people leave the place full, full on delicious pizza. The guys at the Lager House use to work in fine dining, and only had a pizza oven to work with so they decided to create some one of a kind pizzas that incorporates both fine dining and pub food. One of their best is their pulled pork pizza. At first it doesn't seem like they should be put together, but one bite of this and your mind is changed pretty quick. Plus if you're looking for a great beer selection, the Lager House is the way to go.

    Romo's Pizza - Glenmont

This is a place that I have lived next to for sometime, and only recently discovered. Here is a case of word of mouth working. My barber told me about it, I bought it, and I love it.  Romo's is a small town pizza joint, with some big time flavor.  Not just pizza either, their wings are fantastic too.  Be warned though, the hot, are hot.  My mouth was on fire after these and I love hot wings.  Next time, it's mild for me.

Minissale's Wine Cellar Cafe - Troy

This isn't the first time I have told you about the wonders of Minissale's in Troy.  I went in to this great little Italian (Sicilian, sorry Phil) restaurant wanting to try their classic dishes, but fell in love with their pizza.  They make everything in house so when I say from scratch, it's from scratch.  Even the sausage is made in the kitchen.  Absolutely fantastic stuff.   Either get a personal pizza, which is huge, or enough to feed the family.  Either way you can't go wrong.

    The Fountain - Albany

Hands down the best pizza in Upstate, NY. This stuff will move you to tears with how good it is. Cheesy, greasy goodness. I don't know how they do it, but the inside is soft and delicious, while the outer crust is crispy and flavorful. I am usually a topping guy, but when it comes to the Fountain I am perfectly fine with just cheese because the flavor of the pizza is so good.
