Rescheduling the explosion on the Hudson for a week day may cause some massive delays for commuters this week.

The Tappan Zee Bridge, or at least what's left of it, remains standing after state contractors had to reschedule Saturday's explosive demolition due to ma nature throwing down some heavy winds over the weekend. You definitely don't want to be taking any chances when you are literally blowing up a bridge with explosives.

I figured the would probably reschedule for next weekend since the demolition will require numerous road closures including both side of the New York State Thruway but it looks like the are trying to get that thing gone as soon as possible. According to the NY Times state contractors are going to try again this Tuesday, January 15th at 10 a.m., weather permitting.

Which means if you are going to be commuting you might want give yourself some extra time and be prepared for severe traffic delays in both directions on I-97, I-287 and surrounding roadways. The New York State Thruway will close in both directions for about 45 minutes between Exit 9 and Exit 11.

If you are curious to watch the explosion go down I here there are some restaurants along the Hudson than planning watch party's. If you make it down send us some videos!
