Fonda-Fultonville may be changing their mascot and team name the "Braves", even after receiving encouragement from a Mohawk Nation chief.

Of the nearly 60 schools in New York required to change their team names, mascots, and logos for containing Native American stereotypes, 12 are in the Capital Region.

It's official. New York state has a new mascot to represent our area. It was a months-long search for the right one and on Monday, Governor Hochul revealed the winner.

There is nothing that says sporting event like a crazy mascot.  Some are very memorable, while others we would really like to forget as soon as possible.

Mascot down!  I don't know why anyone is surprised by this.  Usually a mascot is right where most of the action occurs so you have to watch out, and the beloved Philly Phanatic learned that the hard way.

A McDonalds commercial from the early 1960's has surfaced on the internet featuring a first look at Ronald McDonald, and boy did he look different.  Actually, it's a bit creepy.
