Happy Birthday today (April 9) to singer Kevin Martin of Candlebox. He’s 48.

Candlebox formed out of Seattle, Washington in 1990 and found immediate success with their self-titled debut album released in July of 1993. Candlebox has been certified four times platinum and the album features the band’s biggest singles including “Far Behind”, “You”, “Change”, and “Cover Me”. Other successful albums included Lucy and Happy Pills. The band went on hiatus in 200 and reunited in 2006 and release of Into the Sun in 2008. Love Stories and Other Musings was released in 2012.  A new album entitled Disappearing in Airports was released in 2016.

I’ve been a fan of Candlebox since the release of their self-titled debut album in 1993 and have seen them perform live on numerous occasions. The first time being a headlining tour in 1994 in support of the debut album and a few years ago on a co-headlining tour with Hinder. Members of the band appeared at the radio station for an acoustic set last year. Check out video from the Q103 Garage Session below.
