Downtown Schenectady will be the place to be for soup lovers this Saturday, Jan. 27.

According to The Daily Gazette, 26 restaurants will compete for top honors Saturday in Schenectady at The Schenectady Soup Stroll. The event runs from 11am-4pm and each sample is $1 each. The annual tradition started three years ago as a way for local restaurants to warm things up during the frigid winter months, and bring people together. The event has drawn thousands over the years with restaurants serving up over 2,000 samples throughout the event. Voting will be done by five judges from Yelp Albany who will be in attendance to give out awards for first, second and  third place along with honorable mentions. Along with the many great soups, beer will also be available.  Last year's first place winner was Aperitivo Bistro who won with their bacon butternut chowder.

Who doesn't love soup? Looks like a great, tasty event this weekend in Schenectady!
