Snow Emergencies In Effect Around Albany Area

In case you hadn't noticed, mother nature decided to remind us that it is in fact winter and we are still in the northeast.  Now there are several snow emergencies in effect.

ATHENS

Mayor Andrea Smallwood announces the Village of Athens, Greene County, has issued a snow emergency beginning 6:00 pm for Wednesday, February 28th through Thursday, March 1st. All snow emergency traffic laws and alternate side of the street parking are in effect during this emergency.

CATSKILL

Due to the forecast of snow, the parking plan for the Village of Catskill will be initiated on Wednesday, February 29 at 8pm. All vehicles should be parked on the odd side of the street from 8pm-8am, vehicles should then be parked on the even side of the street from 8am-8pm. Vehicles should continue to switch sides of the street every 12 hours until the snow emergency has been lifted. Parking enforcement will remain in effect for a period of 72 hours for clean up purposes.

Effective Wednesday evening, there will be no parking on Main Street from Greene Street to Summit Ave beginning at 8pm on February 29th to ensure Main St. is one of the first streets cleared of snow. Violators will be ticketed and towed.

COEYMANS

The Town of Coeymans and Village of Ravena have declared a snow emergency. No parking on Town/Village Roads. Any questions contact Coeymans Emergency Center at 518-756-3303.

SARATOGA SPRINGS

A snow emergency has been declared for the City of Saratoga Springs beginning at 9pm on Wednesday, February 29th. Beginning at 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 29, all vehicles on City Streets (except alternate side parking streets), must be moved to a plowed or cleared area within twelve (12) hours. Accordingly, all vehicles must be moved by 9:00 a.m., Thursday, March 1 and every 12 hours thereafter until 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 3.

Except for those streets posted for alternate side parking, it shall be unlawful to park or stand a motor vehicle for any continuous period of time in excess of twelve (12) hours. All vehicles in violation of the City's Snow Emergency parking regulations are subject to being ticketed or towed at owner's expense.
