Slipknot percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan thanked fans for their messages of support after the death of his daughter Gabrielle on May 18.

The 22-year-old was the youngest of four children in the Crahan family. No cause of death has yet been revealed.

“Chantel, Alexandria, Gage, Simon and I would like to thank everyone for the endless amount of love, prayers, thoughts and kindness we have been receiving,” Crahan wrote in a statement released via the band’s social media channels. “While it is not possible for me to read and respond to each individual message & comment right now, I want you to know that we can feel the energy shared and we are so grateful. You have all proved that there is empathy, positivity, & strength in this community that we call humanity here on Earth.”

He added: “There will be a funeral for my daughter Gabrielle on Sunday, May 26th. Flowers may be sent to the Scottish Rite Consistory in Des Moines. Cards & condolences may be directed to Iles Funeral Home in Des Moines. Thank you endlessly, Shawn and family.”

After Crahan had announced Gabrielle’s passing, bandmate Corey Taylor tweeted: “My heart has broken for my brother. Please keep the Crahan family in your thoughts and love. She will be missed.”

Slipknot had just begun duties to promote their upcoming sixth album We Are Not Your Kind, which is set for release on August 9. The band's North American tour kicks off July 26 in Mountain View, Calif.
