ShopRite, Smashburger, & More Rumored for Delayed North Greenbush Plaza

It only took about 20 years but it looks like the Van Rensselaer Plaza might finally get built and get some business in there.

The Van Rensselaer Plaza at the corner of Routes 4 and 43 in North Greenbush has been a vacant lot for and extended period of time but word on the interwebs is that this could all be changing in the near future.

According to Albany Business Review:

Plans for a 55,000-square-foot supermarket — identified in a marketing brochure as ShopRite — were approved in North Greenbush, New York, along with 17 other stores at the long-delayed Van Rensselaer Square development.

Aside from CAP COM Federal Credit Union that announced that they were going to build a branch on the development over a year ago, other stores rumored to be moving in to the plaza include HomeGoods, TJ Maxx, Petco, ShoeShow, Five Below, Rue 21, Kay Jewelers, Chipotle and Smashburger. However, these are just rumors for now. The leasing agent said that:

The tenants identified in the marketing brochure are not necessarily those that have signed leases.
