St. Patrick's Day is a celebration of everything green and Irish. But when you have a young kid, it is now all about catching the very clever and tricky leprechaun. When we grew up, we never knew the story of the leprechaun but my seven year old, Ryan, does. So now on Saturday night, we are setting some sort of trap to try and catch the clever little green man. Apparently this is now something a whole lot of households do. In fact, there are traps you can cut out of "Lucky Charms" cereal boxes.

Ryan explains that on St. Patrick's eve, the leprechaun comes into your house to create mischief. So we must create a trap so that we can not only stop him, but catch him. If we do, we get his gold.

Last year, we set a trap and our Elf on the Shelf, Roger, was the victim. The leprechaun stomped through our green frosted cupcakes, tied up and taped Roger to the cabinet in the kitchen. Needless to say, the little green guy got away.

This year we are going to set a better trap in hopes to catch him and get all of his gold.

Do you set a leprechaun trap? What is yours made out of? Have you ever caught him?
