Punky Brewster Turns 39 Today (Video)

Soleil Moon Frye, the actress who played the title role in Punky Brewster (1984) turns 39 today, and if the numbers regarding Punky's age or when the show debuted make you feel old, then you need some Punky Power! 

Now that we know everything that we may, or may not of known about Punky Brewster, there is still something about Punky Brewster that makes no sense to me.

Can anyone explain the difference or relevance of the Punky Brewster cartoon to me?

Now that I think about it, Punky Brewster was a really dark show.

In the pilot episode, when asked about her parents, Punky tells Henry that her mother abandoned her at a grocery store.

In another episode, while playing 'hide & seek' one of Cherie hides in a old refrigerator and almost dies.

There are the 4 episodes where Punky gets sent to an orphanage, because Henry is in the hospital.

Not to mention all the episodes that deal with Punky's abandonment issues.

Although the show had many dark episodes and depressing moments, Punky Power always prevailed.

Then there is there is the story of Soleil Moon Frye's boobs, she had a breast reduction, because they got too big.

In conclusion, Soleil Moon Frye is pretty hot for 39, even though she had her breast size reduced.
