Apparently this is the new prom routine: nails, hair, make-up, dress, date, limo, dancing...oh wait, insert eating pot-laced brownies between date and limo.

This past weekend, students from North Andover High School in Massachusetts were enjoying their junior prom until an uninvited guest made its presence known. Nearly a dozen students had consumed pot brownies before the prom and a few even had to be rushed to the hospital, resulting in the prom ending an hour early.

Eventhough the pot brownies happened in Massachusetts, the prom took place at the Atkinson Country Club in Atkinson, New Hampshire. Wow, that must be one wealthy high school. My junior prom was in my high school's gym.

After investigating and interviewing certain individuals, officials believe that the students knew the brownies were laced with marijuana, but they are unsure as to who is responsible for them and where they came from.

During the prom, the school's principle, along with other chaperones noticed that students were becoming violently ill and they immediately called 911. Three of the students were sent to a nearby ER, North Andover Superintendent Chris Hottel said in a statement.

Eleven students were eventually interviewed at the prom as possibly having received a brownie.

After calling 911, the prom was shut down and everyone was forced to leave. Those who were just arriving were turned away as well.

Hottel warned all students that those who were involved in the pot brownie fiasco will face serious consequences:

When you do things, they have repercussions, he told the Globe.

Hopefully the culprits will realize how dumb this was and they'll learn from it so that no one has to pay for their stupidity ever again.

North Andover Police Lt. Paul Gallagher did not immediately respond to a request for comment from AOL News but told North Andover Patch that the investigation into the baked goods was ongoing. No charges have been filed against the students so far.
