A popular ice cream stand in Troy is now open for it's 65th season.

According to The Record (Troy, NY) The Snowman is open for is officially open business as it opened for it's 65th season on Sunday at 11am to a busty crowd. Many locals consider The Snowman to be some of the best ice cream in the region, having served up premium hard ice cream, yogurts, and sherbets on site daily since the early 1950's. The neon snowman sign was lit up Saturday night in tradition to honor founder Tom Tully and second owner Don Baker. The shop was originally opened by Tully in 1953. Current owner John Murphy was busy serving up ice cream Sunday to happy customers, and The Snowman posted to their official Facebook page over the weekend welcoming everyone for another season at "The Best Ice Cream Stand in Upstate NY".
