It was an ugly scene today in Downtown Albany when police went in and took down the Occupy Albany camp.  They even had to use pepper spray on several protesters. It seems the peaceful Occupy protest is over, for now.  Taking a little holiday break if you will.  The protesters permit to stay in the park had expired and the city took action to get it cleaned up.  Earlier in the day the protesters marched throughout the city only to return to find their home of two months was going to be gone.

Things got very heated and officers had to use pepper spray on some of the protesters. The Albany Times Union reports that two protesters, two police officers and a camera man were injured during the events and a few protesters were arrested. A very ugly end to something that is probably not over by any means.
