Pat Sajak Admits To Hosting “Wheel Of Fortune” Drunk In The Past [VIDEO]

I grew up watching Wheel of Fortune, and it will always be a dream of mine to be on the show, both as a word game dork/lover and for a chance to win a substantial amount of money. The show has been on longer than I have been alive, and has been reproduced in a number of other countries. Pat Sajak and Vanna White have one of the easiest jobs, and are loaded because of it. I always thought Sajak was corny and weird, but now I find out that he was just trashed. Makes a whole lot of sense now.

Sajak, 65, who has been hosting the popular "family friendly" show since 1981, flat out answers "yes" to the interviewer''s question of "have you ever done WOF a little bit drunk?" Both let out a slight laugh as he goes on to explain how different the show was years ago and how there were large amounts of time in between scheduled events and such. Good excuse Pat! He speaks so nonchalantly and it just makes me laugh.

He goes on to say:

He and right-hand woman Vanna White used to go to a local Mexican restaurant in Burbank during their two-and-a-half hour dinner breaks. That break gave the duo more than enough time to knock a couple margaritas back before the night tapings. Vanna and I would go across and have two or three or six and then come and do the last shows and have trouble recognizing the alphabet. They're really great tapes to get a hold of, Sajak said. I had a great time. I have no idea if the shows were any good, but no one said anything, so I guess I did OK.

After Sajak claims he can't drink like that now, but that he is in fact drunk at that very moment in the interview, the subject is changed. Whether or not that was true, he just leaves me confused but laughing. Check out the video- the good stuff comes up around the 1:05 mark and lasts about a minute and a half.
