NYS Budget Calls for Beer and Wine Legalized in All NY Movie Theaters

Going to the movies could be a whole different kind of experience in the near future.

Luxury movie theaters have been popping up all across the country over the last few years. Offering up amenities you wouldn't normally find at a traditional movie theater like roomier comfy seats, dinner, and adult refreshments. While the luxury movie theaters are totally a good time they can get a bit pricey and with the exception of a couple cool spots in the area, we don't have many options to enjoy them.

Well, if the 2017 New York State budget passes it looks like all movie theaters in the state will soon be able to offer us (adults) up a little taste of luxury. In the form of adult beverages. According to this article the proposal:

Would authorize the State Liquor Authority to issue alcohol licenses to all movie theaters and "incentivize" sales of drinks from New York breweries and wineries.

There are a few restrictions like alcohol will only be allowed in movies rated PG-13 or higher and customers can only order one drink at a time.
