The Capital Region area will soon be getting another urgent care center.

According to The Daily Gazette, the new EmUrgentCare clinic is set to open in Rotterdam at the Hannaford Plaza on Altamont Ave. It will be in the former Hallmark shop and will occupy over 5,000 square-feet of space. Albany Med already operates eight clinics across the region including two in Schenectady County with the others being in Brunswick, Colonie, Coxsackie, Glenmont, Mechanicville and Saugerties. The new facility will be staffed by 12 full-time and 6 per-diem employees and hopes are to have it open by April. EmUrgentCare clinics are open 9am-9pm every day of the year and they primarily treat minor but pressing issues. "We are happy to offer the quality and convenience of our ninth Albany Med EmUrgentCare facility to the people of Rotterdam and the surrounding area," said Dr. Michael Gruenthal of Albany Med.
