We sure could have used this over the last couple of days here in the Capital Region!

If the last couple days of extreme heat here in the Capital Region had you on the hunt for a place to cool off it looks like by the time summer 2018 rolls around there will be a new spot in Colonie!

According to the Times Union yesterday the Town of Colonie unveiled plans to put in a new Splash Pad at the Colonie Mohawk River Park that will not only have fountains and pools but picnic, seating, and shaded areas as well.

The play area will be ocean themed and set up throughout 11,000 square feet of the park. The goal is to target children of all ages, more specifically, children that don't know how to swim yet but still need to cool down in the hot summer months.

While we didn't get to splash around during this recent heat wave we had here in the Capital Region it should be up and running by next summer. They are hoping to open to the public on June 24th of 2018!

Super pumped for the kids to have a fun place to cool down in the summer but ... do you think it would be frowned upon if adults (more specifically, me) kind of did a run through on my way home from work from time to time?
