The number of craft breweries in New York State seem to be increasing rapidly. Which is nothing but good news for us because we get to taste all the delicious creations from our friends and neighbors!

The Capital Region is getting another addition to our craft beer family this week. In fact Fort Orange Brewing is scheduled to have their ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration tomorrow!

The new brewery is located at 450 North Pearl St. in the warehouse district in Albany. Actually, it will be just a couple blocks away from another Albany brewery that got it's start in Saratoga! I smell a multiple brewery tour brewing!

Fort Orange Brewing will officially open for business tomorrow (Wednesday, October 25th) at 4pm! While the opening day celebrations will go until 9pm tomorrow you will be able to enjoy all their locally brewed creations well into the weekend! They've even got a band and a food truck showing up on Friday!

This particular brewery is the brainchild of a couple of guys who met through their wives, became friends, and started home brewing together. According to AllOverAlbany a batch set of IPA's set them on a path to start the brewery.

They guys plan to focus their brewing on IPA's. The first 3 beers that will be available for the grand opening are their Mo-mentum pale ale, Whistle Stopper red ale, and The Local, their hazy NE style IPA. They say that the brewery will be primarily a taproom as opposed to a restaurant and brewery like a couple of the brew houses in Albany.
