Now texting and driving could get you more than just a fine, it can get you points against your license too. And it will be easier for an officer to give you that ticket as well. Here’s something I didn’t know before, presently an officer needs to pull you over for something else like speeding or something to give you a ticket for texting and driving. With this new bill they’ll be able to pull you over for just holding a cell phone, Ipod, GPS or anything really that is distracting you from driving. It almost sounds like too much, but the truth is that all of these things are incredibly distracting while operating a vehicle. Here’s some more news I’ll bet you didn’t know. There have been over 16,000 deaths nationwide related to texting and driving. Wow, could you imagine if you lost or life or maybe even were permanently crippled because you couldn’t wait a few minutes to send a message to someone? That would be a lousy thing to have to live with the rest of your life. I’m as guilty as anyone out there for committing this act, but it’s time to stop. Besides, I think it’s about time we all start using a little more patience and discipline in this ‘Give me now’ world we live. It’s great to have up to the second technology, but does that mean we always have to use it? I find it hard to have any piece of mind when I do. Sometimes, you just need to turn the phone and computer off and remember what it was like before we all had the world at our fingertips. It was nice… and I think there was a lot less ADD too.
