After the NCAA pulled the first and second round tournament games from Greensboro, NC, Times Union Center was hopeful to land those games. Sadly we did not.

What started all of the matter was a controversial bathroom situation in the arena in North Carolina. They were supposed to hold the set of games for the first and second round before all of that went down. We in the Capital Region including Chuck Schumer and Paul Tonko had tried their best to bring tournament action here for the first time since 2003.

Sadly on Friday it was announced by the NCAA that a Carolina would still hold it just not North Carolina. Instead the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina will call those games home.

With the renovations that are happening to the Times Union Center maybe in the not so distant future we here in Albany can finally host some more tournament games.
