In the past decade, you've primarily seen Myles Kennedy singing with Slash or Alter Bridge. But now Kennedy is polishing off a new solo album.

The vocalist tweeted that he had finished the final moments of tracking the new disc at the Tiny Pocket Studio in Yorktown Heights, N.Y. He's been working with producer Brian Sperber in upstate New York on the disc.

The singer humorously offered the hashtag #itsabouttime to his posting, referencing the fact that the solo album has been in the works for a couple of years now. But with both Alter Bridge and Slash going as strong as they have, it's no wonder that Kennedy has had as little time as he had to devote to his solo release. At present, no album title or release date has been announced for the disc. Check out his posting and an Instagram photo from the final tracking session below.

Kennedy will return to the mic for Slash when he and the Conspirators hit the road this fall. Dates begin Sept. 18 in Providence, R.I., and continue into late October. At present, Alter Bridge are on the backburner for now, as Kennedy works with Slash and on completing his solo project, while guitarist Mark Tremonti works with his other band Tremonti. Stay tuned for details on Kennedy's solo release.
