I’ve given out 4 picks in this year’s NFL playoffs, and guess what? I’m 4-0 in those games and looking to make it a perfect 5 for 5.

I’m psyched about the Super Bowl match up, not only because it looks like it has the makings for a great game to watch, but 2 weeks ago I picked both the Steelers and Packers also hoping that they would play each other because I thought I had the best chance at making money with these 2 teams facing each other. I think the Pack has exactly what it takes to beat the Black & Gold. Most of us know by now that the way to beat Pittsburgh is to spread it out and throw all over them, and Green Bay has all the offensive tools to do that. The only thing that creeps me out is the line on the game. I thought the Steelers would be favored instead of Green Bay. I don’t like the fact that the more experienced team is the underdog. That doesn’t make much sense to me, especially when the Steelers have such a huge fan base. I figured with Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl they’d make them a favorite just knowing that many Steeler fans would put down money on them no matter what the spread was. I know Green Bay has tons of fans across the nation, but I can’t imagine they have nearly as many as Pitt. Well, that’s just another reason to pick the Pack. It looks like they’re begging you take Big Ben AND 3 points.

Reflecting back to all the analysts I heard making Super Bowl predictions in the beginning of the year, I don’t recall hearing many saying Pittsburgh. I remember hearing the Ravens, Jets, Pats, Colts and even the Chargers before the Steelers. On the other hand, I know lots of NFL forecasters called for the Cheese-heads to go all the way. So, the way I see it, the Packers are supposed to be here, while Pitt might have been fortunate enough to just find away to get to the big dance. I don’t predict final scores, and if you’ve read my NFL blogs in the past you might know that I hate picking favorites as nothing chaps my ass more than winning the game but not covering the spread. So although I believe Green Bay could cover this easily, I will probably risk $140 to win 100 on the money line instead of laying the 3. Either way, I’m calling for the Lombardi trophy to go back to Lambeau! No matter who your team is or who you’re rooting for, good luck, enjoy the game and be safe my friends!
