So 2010 was a decent year for the movie biz.  2011 looks like it has a lot of potential.

Like most of you I went to the movies in 2010 and was treated some decent ones.  Salt was one of my favorites of the year and I enjoyed Dinner for Schmucks and Iron Man 2.  Most of what was put out this year was mediocre at best though.

The movie industry seems to be stepping it up in 2011.  There are several much anticipated movies in the upcoming year.  Personally I am looking forward to all the comic book movies that are coming this year.  Marvel has 3 on the way starting with he release of Thor in May, followed by X-Men: First Class in June and Captain America in July.  I have yet to see a trailer for X-Men, and right now there is only a teaser out for Captain America but Marvel seems to be controlling the story lines of the movies a little bit more these days so I am beginning to trust that they won't let these suck .  Iron Man was a massive success and both Thor and Captain America are the next part of what will be the 2012 Avengers movie. DC is also coming out with the much anticipated Green Lantern starring Ryan Reynolds.  The trailer for this hit the internet and everyone from comic book nerds to girly girls seem to be excited for this one (easy ladies he's not a piece of meat! Eyes up here!).

Zack Snyder, director of Watchmen and 300, has a kick ass movie called Sucker Punch coming out and he has been working on it since 2007.  He describes it as "Alice in Wonderland with machine guns".  Check out the trailer and judge for yourself, but I think this one looks amazing.

J.J. Abrams is coming out with Super 8, another alien type movie but he says it has nothing to do with Cloverfield. This coming from the guy who confused us all with LOST for 6 years so I am keeping my options open.  If anything the trailer is so mysterious that I need to see it so i know what the hell is going on.

Also expected out in 2011, The Hangover 2 and lets just hope they aren't letting the ball drop because the first one was awesome.  The Muppets make their return to the big screen and lets not forget that they are remaking Red Dawn, need I say it?  WOLVERINESSSS! So go get some popcorn and get ready for a pretty awesome year in movies, personally I can't wait.
