Happy Birthday today (Oct. 2) to Sting. The Police frontman is 66. Also celebrating is former Sublime drummer Bud Gaugh (50).

Sting was lead singer and bassist for The Police from 1977 to 1983 before launching a solo career. With The Police and solo combined, Sting has sold over 100 million records worldwide and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with in 2003. The Police reunited for a Grammy Awards appearance and reunion tour in 2007. Time magazine named Sting one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2011. Sting worked on a musical called 'The Last Ship' for many years and released an album of the same name in 2013. in 2014, Sting went out on tour with Paul Simon for a tour entitled On Stage Together, which played 21 U.S. cities. The tour continued in early 2015 with shows in Australia and New Zealand, and parts of Europe.

In 2016 Sting released his first rock album in many years entitled 57th & 9th and kicked off a tour in support of the album on Feb. 1, 2017. Cheers to Sting on his birthday today! For more on Sting, check out his official website here.
