Mechanicville's Junior/Senior High School building has lifted their 'Shelter In Place.' This was put in place after a threat was found inside the school.

The School District released this statement via their website to notify parents:

Dear Parents:

At approximately 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26, a non-specific threat was found to be written in the High School girls room. The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department was notified immediately resulting in the recommendation to keep students sheltered in their classrooms as the issue was addressed and the sheriff’s department conducted an investigation.

As a precautionary measure, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit was brought in as an added layer of safety to all students and staff, and upon clearance from law enforcement, students resumed a modified schedule to accommodate the delay.

The Shelter in Place is now complete.

No other information about the threat was available at the time of this post.
