Metallica’s Lars Ulrich recently revealed that Quentin Tarantino wanted him to score the music for “Kill Bill”.  NME.com reports that Tarantino took Lars out to dinner and told him how he had written the fight scenes while listening to “Enter Sandman” and “Sad But True” and thus, thought that Lars would be perfect for the job.

At first, Lars was psyched for the opportunity. But after trying to read the 180 page script Lars said “I had never encountered a narrative like this, set in, to me, a very foreign culture of martial arts and Asian myths. I just couldn’t wrap my thick Danish head around it.”

As the weeks went by Lars pulled the classic move so many of us do when we just can’t wrap our head around something and just never got back to him. Yes, he blew off Quentin Tarantino. Lars now says “It was the single biggest mistake I’ve made in the creative department.” Thedailybeast.com has more quotes from the Newsweek interview.

Now, the only question left unanswered is. Was Quentin staring at Ulrich’s feet over their dinner together?
