How many times have you seen a woman digging through her purse to find her phone, keys, gum, etc? Well, there might also be a few other things in that purse that will gross you out and we're not talking about that pair of dirty underwear from last week.

Researchers conducted a study of women and their handbags only to find out some disgusting things.

First and foremost, 33% of women claim they have NEVER cleaned their purse or handbag.

Secondly, what was found inside the purses - and we're not talking about the lipstick, make-up, etc.

The researchers took swabs of the interiors of the bags. Found in there was traces of E.coli along with fecal matter. Yes, food-born poisonous E.coli and fecal Streptococcus - all of which can cause some serious damage to the human body. These bacteria can cause a variety of health issues including stomach cramps and diarrhea.

Mentos Gum conducted the study and a rep told the Daily Mail UK:

Our research results prove extremely shocking, particularly as so many of us wouldn’t think twice about eating loose gum found in the bottom of our bag, completely unaware to the harmful bacteria we are putting into our mouths at the same time.

Moral of the story - LADIES, CLEAN YOUR PURSES OUT and everyone else, don't take gum from a girl who's purse looks like a garbage can full of stuff.
