Jen’s Top Four Mayhem Fest Bands [VIDEOS]

The long-awaited annual Mayhem Festival starts in less than 24 hours and I am so beyond stoked for it! I emptied my wallet in order to get VIP pit tickets, but I know it will be completely worth it. There are a lot of kick ass bands on the bill but I am most excited for four in particular. Read on to see which bands I am most looking forward to, along with some music videos to get you in the Mayhem mood!

4. Asking Alexandria- This still fairly new metal quintet hail from England and have been gaining popularity outside of their hometown since their "inception" in 2008. They have released two studio albums so far and their fan base is quickly rising, which is proven by their headlining status in this year's Mayhem Festival. Here is one of my favorites from them.

3. The Devil Wears Prada- Made up of five Ohio metallers, this group have been around for about seven successful years now and have four studio albums under their belt. I became a fan about half way in but have caught up and fell in love with them. They will be performing on the Jagermeister Stage, and will hopefully play one of my favorites.

2. As I Lay Dying- This 12-year-old metal band were born and raised in sunny California and have raised something of their own- a sick and beautifully twisted heavy metal quintet that I have loved since my teenage years. I have evolved in years as I got to watch them evolve musically as a band and love who they have become. I have seen them before but not in awhile and I know they will kill it.

1. Slipknot- Well, Duh!
