James Taylor showed that even the most seasoned veteran can screw up from time to time, accidentally kicking off a nationally televised performance of 'The Star-Spangled Banner' with the opening line of 'America the Beautiful.'

This flub took place at Boston's Fenway Park before the start of game two of the 2013 World Series. Of course, it was a very minor, understandable mistake -- especially considering that Taylor was already slated to perform 'America the Beautiful' later in the game. But it did seem to throw off the rest of his performance, which found him lurching and straining for control of the song's (admittedly challenging) melody.

Tragically for Red Sox fans -- a group which includes the Boston-born Taylor -- it was hardly the biggest error of the night for the home team. Instead, that honor was shared by twin fielding mistakes from catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia and pitcher Craig Breslow that helped the St. Louis Cardinals win the game and tie the series at one game apiece.
