While Jack White fans continue to wait for more concrete details regarding his next release, they can at comfort themselves with the knowledge that he'll be playing live in 2018 — for at least one night, anyway.

White's first live date of 2018 has been confirmed courtesy of the Governors Ball, the New York festival scheduled to return over the weekend of June 1-3. As listed at the Governors Ball website, White headlines an eclectic roster of artists that's still being announced, but currently includes Eminem, Travis Scott, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Halsey; although there's still plenty of time for extra dates to end up on his calendar before then, the festival currently marks White's first live performance since 2015.

Special "announce day" ticket pricing is in effect at the Governors Ball website through midnight today (January 3), with a general admission three-day pass going for $275 — a discount on the eventual $305 price — and VIP passes set at $600 instead of the regular price of $705. You can look over complete ticketing information here.

The Governors Ball announcement is just the latest in a series of rumblings hinting at an imminent return to action for White. He's been teasing a new studio album for months, revealing last year that he'd been tracking demos in a Nashville apartment and later confirming that sessions for his next LP had taken place in New York and Los Angeles. More recently, White dropped what appears to be a teaser video for the album, posting a clip titled Servings and Portions From My Boarding House Reach that was described as a "psycho-collage of sound."
