Today (March 23) is National Puppy Day. The day is actually considered an international holiday.

According to nationalpuppyday.com, National Puppy Day was established in 2006 by Colleen Paige (Pet & Family Lifestyle Expert and Animal Welfare Advocate) as a special day to celebrate the magic and unconditional love that puppies bring to our lives. It's also a day to help save orphaned puppies around the world, encouraging adopting rather than buying from pet stores, and educating the public about the horrors of puppy mills. There are many ways to celebrate National Puppy Day, and you can check out a full list of ideas here.

I adopted my English bulldog two years ago and he has become a great companion. I take him with me on road trips and everyone seems to love Jax wherever we go. My boy will be getting a fun, new toy to play with today along with a belly rub. I salute Jax on National Puppy Day!
