Local singer Maria Brink and her California-based band In This Moment have recently begun the recording process for their fourth studio album which will follow the highly successful A Star-Crossed Wasteland, which came out in 2010. The new album is scheduled for a summer release.

The band, currently a trio, have settled in Las Vegas, Nevada at The Hideout Recording Studio alongside their producer Kevin Churko.

The band recently faced a huge loss after drummer Jeff Fabb and guitarist Blake Bunzel parted ways to join American Idolfinalist James Durbin's backing band. I still can't understand why they would leave such an amazing band to be in the shadow of a television show contestant. It makes no sense to me and when Durbin's fame dies down then they're back at square one while ITM will be even more well-known.

According to the article:

Commented IN THIS MOMENT: We are embracing this change with open arms, and a renewed spirit…. Sometimes you have to let go of what's in your hands to reach for something greater! In the meantime, we are back in the studio and the new songs are sounding better than anything we've done to date.

Are you excited for the new album? What previous album do you hope it sounds like?
