Memorial Day weekend, the "unofficial" kick-off to summer and the time to "officially" break out the grill and host a party for family or friends. But when you do, how can you ensure the meal and party is going to be great?

Well, let me help (or at least try to, I'm not Bobby Flay here) but I do know a thing or two about having a party. The following might be simple reminders but we all need them from time to time.

Follow these and you'll have a great party anytime this summer.

Choose The Right Cuts Of Meat

You don't want to be chewing and chewing and chewing on something that has a rubbery texture to it. Make sure to choose the right cuts of meat for the full juicy flavor.

Make sure to only flip your meat once and let your steaks settle for up to 5 minutes after taking them off the grill. This will keep the juices from escaping.

Also, wait to pour the BBQ sauce on. Sugar burns easy and you want to actually have the full flavor of the sauce when eating it. This also keep it from charring or burning while you are cooking the meat

    Have A Good Spread

You have to have variety at the table. A bag of chips and some dogs ain't going to cut it. Beans, Casseroles, Deviled Eggs, Deli Meats & Cheeses, Etc.

Don't be remembered as the "bland party".

    Plenty of Beverages

Nothing is worse then going to someone's house and an hour into the gathering, a beer run is needed. Personally, I feel bad for those who have to work at a gas station store on holidays because of those of us who have "last minute" shopping to do.

Help them out, prepare in advance and have plenty of brews for everyone!

    Plenty of Chairs

Next to not having enough beverage, is not having enough chairs. You don't want your guest or even yourself to have to stand while eating. It's a day to relax and enjoy the weather with company.

Make sure you prepare in this case and have enough chairs (hey, coolers work too).

    Entertainment

While the food is cooking, the beers are being drank, and everyone is chatting - you need something else to entertain the crowd.

Lawn Darts, Croquet, Horseshoes, etc. Have something for your guest to do.

    Music

Make sure you have your radio cranked to Q103 all weekend. We'll be blasting out blocks of rock with our 3-Day Triple Play weekend featuring 3 song sets from your favorite artist.

Don't disappoint your guest, give them a soundtrack to your party with Q103.

I know, cheep plug but it's true. I'll have the station cranked at my party as well and I'm not saying that because I work here either.

    Happy Memorial Day!
