Henry Rollins Brings His Travel Slide Show to The Egg in Albany

Henry is an exceptional story teller and I'm sure he will have some interesting stories to share with us from his travels around the globe!

Henry Rollins came into the spotlight as the lead singer of one of the greatest punk rock bands of all time, Black Flag. Since the band disbanded Henry has gone on to do a plethora of things with his life from making music with The Rollins Band, starting a record label and publishing company to acting, comedy, and activism. Full and exciting are only two of the words that I only imagine begin to explain the life this man leads.

Well, Mr. Rollins is coming back to the Capital Region to share another side of his life with us. I saw Henry last year on his spoken word tour and let me tell you I could listen to this man tell music stories forever. This time around he is coming back to share stories of his travels with his Travel Slide Show. A press release for the tour reads:

For many years, Henry Rollins has used his camera to document his travels around the world. Join Henry for an intimate evening as he tells the stories behind the photos he’s taken, from Baghdad to Timbuktu.

Rollins will present a special performance drawing on experiences and his vast archive of photographs. “For many years, I have documented my travels all over the world with a camera. Not always easy but always worth it. Many of the photos have a stories behind them. Now and then, I gather several images, show them to an audience and tell those stories.”

As a keen photographer, he will be bringing stories from travel all over the world, including the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, South America and Antarctica.
